Jaynie Roberts President of Board / Founding Member / Artistic Director
Jaynie founded Magenta Theater in 2002 as a means to workshop the plays she was writing, and to also provide a creative outlet for her son and daughter, whom she was homeschooling at the time. Born in St. Helens, England, Jaynie has also lived in Ohio, Japan, California, Texas - but declares that the Pacific Northwest is where she feels most at home. Jaynie has a theater degree from Chapman University in Orange, California and graduate courses from the University of Houston.
Tanya Gray Vice President / Board Member / Volunteer Committee / Grant Committee
Tanya has been involved with Magenta Theater as an actor, student, crew member and director since 2012. She has been part of the Board of Directors, participating in committees for grant writing and business plan development, since 2013. Tanya is a graduate of Leadership Clark County. Professionally, Tanya works for the Public Works Department at the City of Vancouver where she supervises the Solid Waste group. As a resident of Vancouver who values community and theater, she looks forward to working with Magenta for the foreseeable future.
Francine Raften Secretary to the Board of Directors
Francine Raften has been involved with Magenta since 2013 as an actor, costume designer, sound operator, house manager and on the Board of Directors since 2014. Francine is a Marketing Executive with expertise in media and public relations, social media, company or product launch strategy and execution, brand development and enhancement, political marketing and campaign management and timely market and competitive intelligence. She also brings with her three decades of experience in television, radio and Internet television, both in front of and behind the camera and the microphone.
Lori Peterman Treasurer of the Board of Directors
Lori Peterman is a CPA in practice in Vancouver, WA and Treasurer of the Board. She brings her knowledge of finance, taxes and business to benefit the operation and management of Magenta Theater. Lori joined the board because of her love of live theater and performances of all kinds, having participated in various bands and orchestras in the region herself.
Tony Provenzola Board Member / Education Committee
Tony has been a part of Magenta Theater since 2008. He joined the Board in 2009, and has served as Treasurer and Secretary. He had been connected with various theatrical endeavors, primarily through church and school, since Junior High, which was many years ago. At Magenta, he has been involved in several of the productions as a performer, working backstage on crew, or in a technical position. He has also been an instructor for Magenta Academy.
Elizabeth Mock Board Member / Volunteer Committee
Elizabeth has been involved with Magenta since 2009 when her children were cast in A Midsummer Night's Dream and she was asked to help with makeup. Since that time, she helped with furnishing the Green Room, worked in Costume Design and Hair and Makeup Design for several productions. She hopes to continue learning about theater through the wonderful mentors at Magenta.
Denise Lukins Board Member
Denise is an attorney at the Law Office of Denise J. Lukins and board member at Magenta since 2014. She first became involved when she appeared in Sense and Sensibility and Twelve Angry Women. Her experience in these productions made her realize the importance of community theater.
Maya McFaddin Board Member
Maya McFaddin joined Magenta in 2015 with a range of experience in the visual and performing arts. Professionally, you can find Maya supporting arts education in the Portland Metro area as the Arts Education Coordinator for the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
Amy Woodfin, Board Member
Amy has been a supporter of community theater everywhere she has lived. She began volunteering with Magenta Theater in 2016, helping to get the new facility ready for The Women. Amy now lends her artistic talents to set and prop painting, and helping with Makeup. Amy also brings her organizational and technical writing skills to the Grants & Fundraising Committee, and is excited for her new role working with and supporting the wonderful Friends of Magenta.
Kristen Noel, Board Member
Kristen has been involved in theater on and off stage in the Portland/Vancouver area for the past 25 years. She has a BA in Drama and Costume Design from the University of Portland. She got involved with Magenta in 2014 with the production of Becky's New Car and since has been involved with acting, costume design, hair and makeup design, stage crew, sponsorship program and now board member. Kristen has a strong passion for quality theater and firmly believes in the mission of Magenta.
Lauren Scher, Board Member
Lauren first came to Magenta in 2014 with a role in Rose Colored Glass. Lauren was immediately drawn to the incredible sense of community and support she received and is excited to help the organization grow. Originally from NY, Lauren has a BA in Cinema Studies from Stony Brook University and an MPA from Baruch College. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys attending theater, dragon boating, and traveling.
Laura Nelson, Board Member
Laura S. Nelson is an attorney at Samuels Yoelin Kantor LLP, in Portland, OR. Laura focuses her law practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and guardianships/conservatorships for both Washington and Oregon clients. Laura is a proud member of the Magenta Theater and C.D.M. Caregiving Services boards
Bill Roberts, Past President/Co-Founder
Not knowing that he would be asked to learn HTML, stage lighting, set building, etc., Bill co-founded Magenta Theater with Jaynie. Born in Texas, he has called the PNW home for the past 23 years. Military veteran (MP sergeant in Korea with US Army) and law enforcement veteran of 4 decades. As part of a three person team he helped to start the current local, regional and statewide law enforcement and courts efforts to fight domestic violence. Education in Criminal Justice and Family Counseling. He enjoys photography, exercise, shooting, construction, possibly drone flying and family.
